SIA “Baltic Waste & Energy Group” (BWEG), which in recent years has achieved rapid growth and become a significant player in the Baltic environmental and waste management sector, is taking the next step in consolidating its development - establishing a Supervisory Board. The purpose of the Board is to ensure strategic oversight, bring top-level expertise into the group’s governance, and strengthen its sustainable progress for the future.
On August 6, 2025, a meeting of BWEG members approved the company’s new Supervisory Board. The founder of the company, Roberts Binde, was appointed Chairman of the Board, alongside two highly respected public figures with extensive experience - Gatis Kokins and Raimonds Vējonis.
“The experience, achievements and reputation of Gatis Kokins and Raimonds Vējonis speak for themselves. Their involvement is a strong confirmation of our potential, ambition, and clear path towards dynamic BWEG growth,” emphasizes Roberts Binde.
“The main focus of the new BWEG Supervisory Board will be the implementation of modern corporate governance within the Group. This means, first of all, understanding shareholder expectations - what they see as the most important management priorities, as well as reviewing the current strategy and key risks. It is already evident that shareholders expect rapid growth. All the preconditions are in place: significant potential for consolidation in a fragmented market and strong group capitalization. The Board will work closely with the Management Board to develop a new strategy, oversee its implementation, ensure effective risk management, and build open dialogue with all stakeholders - consumers, municipalities, and environmental regulatory institutions,” notes Gatis Kokins, Member of the Supervisory Board of SIA "Baltic Waste & Energy Group".
Structural changes are also reflected in the BWEG Management Board - Ivo Graviņš will assume the duties of Chairman of the Management Board, while continuing to lead the BWEG subsidiary SIA “RSGA”.
BWEG Chairman of the Management Board, Ivo Graviņš, emphasizes that these changes will provide new momentum both for the daily operations of the group’s companies and for its long-term development strategy, fostering innovation and responsible resource management.
